Ayoung Kim creates hybrid narratives that blend geopolitics, mythology, technology, and futuristic iconography. Her work spans video, virtual reality, game simulation, sonic fiction, and text, exploring connections between biopolitics, border controls, memories, and futures. Kim has exhibited at prestigious venues, including MoMA, M+, Sharjah Biennial, Ars Electronica Festival, and multiple National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art locations in Korea. She has participated in international film festivals and biennales in Berlin, Busan, Gwangju, and Venice. Kim's accolades include the ACC Future Prize, Golden Nica Award at Prix Ars Electronica, Terayama Shuji Prize, and the Young Artist of the Year Award from Korea's Ministry of Culture.
