Scott Jones is an interdisciplinary artist based in the North-West. His work sits at the convergence of design, technology and science, investigating how unknown data (noise) might neutralise our personal presets and better inform the construction of future public forums. His work repurposes hidden by-products of technological and neurological processes and platforms to produce eye-burning, ear-splitting and chest-pounding combinations of images, sounds and haptics of noise.
He is particularly interested in how ritual is used to combat social situations of uncertainty and how these coping strategies might leverage against a Capitalist colonisation of the digital, inviting users to experience more pluriversal states and civilisations within the metaverse.
He maintains a residency within a space at Egerton Park, Birkenhead, developing onsite public interventions that interrogate the hybrid worlds we allow ourselves to drift into.
