In Gallery 1 audiences encountered a community of computers suspended from the ceiling - that chatted or chanted - images of ears are on the screens. The listening ears were cupped to concentrate; words spoken by visitors trigger the system to find associations from a pool of related words. When left alone the computers synchronised their streams of consciousness, chanting associated words in unison.
