Imagine, create and discover with your family as we look at the theme ‘home’, taking inspiration from artist and video game maker, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley.
In this special series of Do Something Saturdays, collaborate virtually with the artist to create a video game map made of the places you know and love! Each week you can do something completely different: learn about 3D modelling, dive into the world of video game mapping and play games created by the artist on the big cinema screen in The Box.
Come along with the family to discover new exciting activities, and get ready to make some art about the place that matters to you the most. Your conversations, creations and ideas may feature in a new artwork by the artist and shown in one of our galleries.
Do Something Saturdays welcomes all young people with their accompanying guardians/parents. Some of the more technical activities such as using video game consoles are suited for ages 7 up to 13. There will also be some craft-based activities available for under 7 years old, so the whole family can join in!
Danielle is an artist and archivist who uses video games, animation, sound and performance to create work celebrating trans Black people. Find out more about her work at www.daniellebrathwaiteshirley.com
