Part of the The Living Planet season
Take your place around the table as either a human or a household pest as we attempt to negotiate a new agreement for sharing space. When survival is at stake, can there ever be a compromise?
Earlier this year, Shonagh Short was awarded a FACT Together grant to create digital work during lockdown. PESTS is a ‘choose your own adventure’ game with a difference, offering the choice of experiencing a human or a fly’s view of their shared domestic space.
The investigation of shared ownership and the interdependency of human actions with other species acts as a cautionary tale to humankind: asking us to move beyond our negative perceptions of common household pests in order to see how they survive and thrive, and to use them as a framework for resilience in response to the changing world around us.
This is an online event and will be taking place on Zoom, Wednesday 28 October.
