We’re joined by artist Sara Sadik for a Studio/Lab Masterclass that unpacks her creative practice and immersive installation, XENON PALACE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Halfway between fiction and documentary, Sara's video and performance work, inspired by video games, anime, science fiction, and French rap, puts forward characters facing challenges and striving to achieve moral and physical transformation through initiatory stories. Sara has shown her work at galleries around the world, including LUMA Arles (France), Gladstone Gallery (New York), MACRO Museum (Rome), Sadie Coles HQ (London), and Schinkel Pavillon (Berlin).

At FACT, Sara presents XENON PALACE CHAMPIONSHIP, an interactive film and installation environment that reflects on brotherhood and belonging and explores the relationship between alienation, ambition, and securing your legacy. Sara transforms the gallery into a magical hookah lounge where you can take part in gameplay as the narrative of the film unfolds, using custom-built hookah hoses to train and battle Xenons - fantastical creatures that emerge from wisps of smoke.
